What Saudi Arabia actually requires
The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs offers document ratification for educational, commercial, personal-status and other records. That service does not mean every Saudi-bound Nigerian document must pass through the same chain. Get the employer, university, court or government office’s document list before preparing each record.

Complete only the verification or notarization required for that Nigerian record. If the confirmed Saudi attestation route includes Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs authentication, check its current submission process and fee before paying.
Legalize at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Abuja
For a record that needs Saudi consular attestation, confirm the Embassy’s current original-document, identification, application and payment instructions directly. Its public ministry e-service describes an electronic request, followed by review at a ministry office or mission, but does not publish a fixed Nigeria-specific supporting-document list.

Common Legalization Mistakes to Avoid
- Expecting a Nigerian apostille. Nigeria cannot issue a Hague Apostille. Ask the Embassy which Nigerian certification must come first when consular attestation is required.
- Assuming the Embassy will accept your document without first confirming the current certification chain and appointment process.
- Skipping or mistiming the translation. Do it in the form and language the receiving authority specifies, at the right stage.
